Bibliography: works cited or consulted

© Copyright John Palmer. This is work in progress. Please use this link to send me comments and suggestions.

References in this file should be complete, with at least author, year and title, and, in the case of articles, journal and volume also; but some incomplete references have been included. Other incomplete references will be found where the work is cited, rather than here in the bibliography. I don't claim to have read all the works listed here, but most of those that I haven't are marked "Not yet seen". For abbreviations see the front page of the Database.

Each entry is prefaced by the label that is used in links within this website. This label must not be used in citations in other works. It is best regarded as an arbitrary identifier with no necessary relationship to the author's name or the year of publication. Some journals (notably PDNHAS) have a nominal year which differs from the publication year; in these cases, the label may be based on the nominal year, but the body of the entry will always show the actual publication year.
